No — Vashiyat is not a substitute for a legally registered will. It's a digital asset inventory and nominee-access system designed to help your family find what you've left behind. We strongly recommend complementing it with a registered will and consulting a qualified estate-planning lawyer.
You can add, remove, or modify nominees anytime from your dashboard. Each change is verified with the steps your account uses (such as mobile OTP or Google sign-in) and recorded in your audit log.
When a nominee submits a verified access request, you work inside a review window you configure to approve or decline. During that window we send reminders across email, SMS, WhatsApp, push notifications, and your designated guardian if you enabled one. If you do not respond before the window ends, the release path you set runs for the assets you assigned to that nominee.
Yes. You can assign each nominee to specific assets, or specific categories — for example, your spouse gets bank accounts and real estate, while your children get mutual funds and stocks.
You can permanently delete your vault at any time. We remove your encrypted data from active systems and routine backups within 30 days. Full wording is in our Privacy policy.
Never. Vashiyat stores asset metadata — account numbers, custodians, value, supporting documents — not credentials. We will never ask for your net-banking password or trading PIN.
